GeoSyn Ocean Bottom Station

Products

Our range of innovative geophysical solutions is designed to redefine the way we understand and interact with the Earth's dynamic systems. From ocean bottom seismic units to real-time seismic and tsunami monitoring stations, Geosyn delivers state-of-the-art tools tailored for marine exploration and geophysics. Each product is meticulously crafted to address the unique challenges of deep-sea environments, offering reliability, efficiency, and adaptability. Whether you're a marine scientist, geologist, or an exploration professional, Geosyn is your trusted partner in unlocking the secrets of the ocean floor.

GeoSyn Ocean Bottom Station (OBS) redefines seismic observation and marine exploration. Housed in a resilient 17 or 13-inch glass sphere with a protective plastic casing, this technology is tailored for both passive seismic observations and marine exploration projects.

One notable feature is its user-friendly deployment and recovery process, eliminating the need for specialized vessels. The OBS's electronic components are securely sealed within the glass sphere, safeguarding them from the challenging marine environment.

For precise data quality control, the OBS employs an advanced transducer system. This ensures accurate recordings of earthquakes and active shots during marine exploration projects. The station's design allows for maintenance tasks, such as data reading and battery recharging, without the necessity of opening the sealed unit. This not only streamlines operational processes but also enhances the longevity of the OBS.

Case Study

The Problem

Traditional seismic units often pose logistical challenges, requiring special vessels for deployment and recovery. Accessing data for quality control can be cumbersome, and routine maintenance, such as data reading and battery recharging, typically involves opening the station, potentially compromising its integrity.

Our Solutions

GeoSyn Ocean Bottom Station (OBS) addresses the challenges inherent in traditional seismic units. The OBS offers a simplified deployment and recovery process, eliminating the need for specialized vessels. Its robust design, enclosed in a glass sphere with protective housing, ensures durability in harsh marine conditions.

For precise data quality control, the OBS features an advanced transducer system, allowing accurate recordings of earthquakes and active shots during marine exploration. The station's design also facilitates routine maintenance without opening the sealed unit, providing operational efficiency while maintaining the integrity of the OBS.
